The Shame of Point Reyes is a Film Series

The original film, 'The Shame of Point Reyes' will from now on serve mostly as an archived overview of the entire Point Reyes controversy.   More detailed explorations of different aspects of this controversy are brought to light in a documentary miniseries.

Here is an overview of the full series is as follows:

Death Park - A look at the suffering of wildlife in a national park at the hands of those mandated to care for them.

Historic - A look at the rise to power of ranchers and how they not only managed to stay after being paid to leave, but have convinced the world to keep subsidizing their destruction of a national park.

The Ecology of Point Reyes - This one dives into the science of the toll ranching is taking on the native flora and fauna. This ties in my strategy of having completed an MS in integrative biology or wildlife ecology by the time this film is released.  Once again, a plant-based theme is subtly present as we see how so many native species are able to survive through delicate relationships they formed with each other over millennia.  By stark contrast, the sudden introduction of animal agriculture via European contact exposes the human illusion of needing to destroy land for our own “food production” rather than establishing homeostasis the way other species do in a healthy habitat.

Best Case Scenarios -  This is the most blatant “plant-based” chapter in the series.  The film asks the audience to ponder how we ever decided taking babies from mothers was an industry to be proud of (even without including the gore of violent animal abuse that occurs in so many dairies).   The filmmaker observes the glorious wildlife of Point Reyes intermixed with the visual stains of the ranches which house thousands of miserable animals.  As the audience is shown multiple examples of caring motherhood displayed by various species within the park the question is posed as to why God would ever design our species to require calcium via the disruption of motherhood of other animals.   The filmmaker also shares personal examples from his own life of suffering under humans and the horror of being imprisoned by someone (or something) that intends to harm you.
